St.Stephen's School

Class 1DT

We are very excited to have graduated from early years and have now entered key stage 1!

We are 1DT our teacher is Donna and you can find us in room 6. We will continue to work very hard with our phonics and we should be experts by the end of the year. It is very important that we read every single day at home and at school so if you ever have any spare time please come and either read us a story or listen to us read.

Our phonics also helps us to get better at writing. By the end of the year we will have written about a wide range of adventures; both real life and imaginary! The more we share stories together the more our imaginations will grow and that will give us ideas for our writing. And we must not forget that we will continue to practise using finger spaces consistently and using neat, accurate handwriting.

In maths we will be learning about numbers to 100 and beyond and we will become more confident with adding and taking away. One of challenges is to know our number bonds to 10 so we will practise them until we know them inside out before we move into year 2.

We love singing our WE CARE charter song so if you are passing one day come in and we will give you a rendition!

Class Charters

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
