We are 1SC and our teacher is called Sarah!
We are all very excited about being in Year 1 and can’t wait to learn lots of new things. Everyone in our class tries their best to make sure we can all achieve our goals. Some of our favorite activities are painting, writing funny stories, using construction and keeping healthy.
We will continue to work very hard with our phonics and we should be experts by the end of the year. It is very important that we read every single day at home and at school so if you ever have any spare time please come and either read us a story or listen to us read.
Our phonics also help us to get better at writing. By the end of the year we will have written about a wide range of adventures; both real life and imaginary! The more we share stories together the more our imaginations will grow and that will give us ideas for our writing. And we must not forget that we will continue to practise using finger spaces consistently and using neat, accurate handwriting.
In maths we will be learning about numbers to 100 and beyond and we will become more confident with adding and taking away. One of challenges is to know our number bonds to 10 so we will practise them until we know them inside out before we move into year 2.
If you’re passing by one day, drop in and see us, we would love to show off some of our fantastic work!
