Class 4EW

Hello and welcome to class 4EW! Our teacher is Esther Williams and our Educational Assistant is Bela Patel. We can be found in room 14. Following our WE CARE charter, we strive to be hardworking pupils
who are eager to reach our full potential. We are courteous and polite and we will support each other in everything that we do

This year, we aspire to succeed in all areas of the broad curriculum. The core subjects will continue to be challenging. In English we will explore a wide range of texts and use our growing understanding of new and ambitious writing techniques to create our own exciting pieces of writing. In Maths we will build on the number skills we have learnt, using the four operations to develop our reasoning skills and solve more challenging word problems. We will also continue exploration of shape and measure.

Foundation subjects will focus on improving a variety of skill sets. In history we will be organising dates chronologically, improving our understanding of primary sources and making comparisons between key historical eras and the world in which we live today. In Geography the focus will be on comparing natural and man-made geographical features and interpreting data, creating graphs and tables. There will still be plenty of time for creativity: learning to play the ukulele, creating embroidery pieces and sculpting.

In Year 4 we are also lucky enough to participate in swimming lesson which, alongside various other visits, will help build our confidence and independence.

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead!

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
