St.Stephen's School

Class 2EW

Hello and welcome to class 2EW. Our teacher is Esther Williams and you can find us in Room 8. We are also lucky to have Bela Patel as our educational assistant.

We are looking forward to working to the best of our ability and facing new challenges throughout the year. Our aim is to work neatly in our books, share imaginative ideas and collaborate with each other. We will always work as a team and support each other in everything we do.

In English we will focus on our grammar skills, spelling and joining our handwriting. In Maths we will be learning our times tables and exploring different mental strategies to help us solve problems. We are excited about our Creative Curriculum topics this year, which are Space and Aliens, Famous people and The Seaside. Through these topics we will be learning many new skills in History, Geography, Art and DT. In History we will be sequencing events on a timeline and use artefacts and historical resources to learn about different periods and lifestyles. In geography we will be improving our geographical knowledge, in particular the United Kingdom and its capital cities. We will use atlases, globes and maps. During our Art and DT sessions we will work with lots of different media and learn new techniques such as clay work, fine are and using materials to create collages. In addition, we will focus on raising awareness of the charity Water Aid, looking closely at what they do and how they help countries around the world.

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead and will continue to follow our WE CARE class charter which is at the heart of all our learning.

Class Charters

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
