St.Stephen's School

Class 4JM

Hello and welcome to 4JM.

Our class teacher is Jo Mathias and we can be found in Room 13.

This year, our topics are 'Who Do You Think You Are?', 'Asia' and 'Superheroes'.

During the Autumn Term our topic is ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’. This is all about how British people have come from all over the world. We are studying the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings to learn about how they settled in Britain and are the ancestors of many people living in Britain today. We will also be looking at our family history and where we have come from.

Spring Term is all about Asia, including the study of incredible India and a project with United World Schools (UWS). We are going to work in partnership with UWS to raise funds to help open up a school in Cambodia, in South East Asia.

In our final term, we will delve into the amazing world of comics and superheroes, with a special focus on the extraordinary humans of today and the past- this includes: world leaders and political figures, sports people and ordinary everyday heroes.

Maths in Year 4 will continue to be challenging. By the end of Year 4, we aim for all of us to know our multiplication tables up to 12x and related division facts.

We have some exciting visits to look forward to this year which are all related to our topics. We will be visiting the British Museum to look at artefacts from the past, and we will be having a special visit to the Science Museum, plus more.

Class Charters

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights.
