St.Stephen's School

Class 1ZK

Welcome children and parents to Year 1.

The year will begin with the exciting world of stories and fantasy. In the spring we will investigate the materials that are used to create buildings and homes around us. During the summer we will be looking at travel and transport. These topics should inspire us to produce our own stories, writing and artwork that will be displayed and admired on our school walls. We have exciting trips planned such as: The Transport Museum and the Tate Modern.

We would like all of you to try your very best all of the time. We would like you to work as a team by supporting each other and sharing ideas.

In English we will focus on phonics, reading, writing and also speaking and listening. We will continue with learning how to count, read and write numbers confidently from 1 to 100, as well as learning our number bonds to 10.

We hope that your parents will attend our parent workshops which will provide an opportunity to work collaboratively and creatively together with you.

Please feel free to come and talk with us if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Zahira and Eluned

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
